A Wander Through Cumbria's Ancient Paths

Updated: Nov 19, 2024

On the 11the November WDCC Alan Cleaver is presenting a talk "A Wander Through Cumbria's Ancient Paths". Author and historian Alan Cleaver loves nothing more than walking the Lake District. He prefers to avoid the cliche routes to Ashness Bridge, Catbells or Rannerdale Knotts, preferring instead some of the lesser known paths such as the corpse roads, lonnings and postman's paths that criss-cross the landscape. Join him as he shares the stories behind such delights as Billy Watson's Lonning, Ticklebelly Alley, Parson's Passage and Bloody Bones Lane.
