Last night, club member Brian McCombe and his son, Steven, presented, via zoom their talks.
Before the break Steven, who teaches at City University, London, Video and Multimedia, gave us a talk on using our DSLR’s to make videos. He emphasised the importance of considering what is actually being videoed and what you are doing with the camera. He also emphasised the importance of adding sound to a video. He said that DSLR’s had many advantages for making videos, not least the choice of lenses available and the size of the sensors.
After the break, Brian showed how he uses photoshop to change backgrounds and manipulate images to produce his final work. He showed us several of his images, before taking us through, step by step how they were produced.
Our thanks to Brian and Steven for an interesting evening.
Next Week judge, John Williams will be joining us for our 3rd Open Competition, and a reminder that entries for the 4th with the theme of architecture, should be handed in. Prints should be A4 and UNMOUNTED please. PDI’s as usual.
