Masai Mara Safari – Ray Wood 18th October 2019
We were transported to the Masai Mara. Ray Wood, visiting from Cleethorpes Camera Club, had lived and worked in South Africa for a number of years, but had returned more recently to visit the Masai Mara.
We were shown some stunning images illustrating the wide range of wildlife seen there, the magnificent sunrise and sunsets, and some showing simple village life in the area. These were brought alive by Ray’s stories of his adventures whilst on safari.
He explained how many of the images been taken, and he emphasised the importance of patience, careful observation and being on the right side of the animals from the sun in order to achieve good results. A very enjoyable evening!
On Sunday 20th October some members will be attending the Western Area Battle at Houghton Village Hall, Carlisle. Let’s hope for a good result!
Next week Copeland Photographic Society will be visiting us to show us some of their work.
