First Competition Night 4 October 2019

Updated: Oct 19, 2019

Last night was the First Competition night of the season. The judge was Dawn Stobbart who provided us with a detailed critique of the images. She invited feedback from the audience as she went through the images which enabled club members to gain an insight into some of her judging techniques and also a reminder that it was an open competition so the constraints on editing of entries which are nature subjects do not apply. It was an enjoyable evening.

Next weeks meeting is a review of the First competition images and a chance for members to raise any issues they want discussed. The following week is a presentation by Ray Smith on a safari in the Masai Mara which includes details of the problems to be overcome when photographing on safari.

The topic for the First Project meeting on 10 January 2020 is “The Golden Hour”. Remember that images shown in the meeting must have been taken between September 2019 and the date of the meeting.
