President’s Evening – 15th February 2019.

Tonight, the club’s President, Sheila Richardson, gave us an interesting presentation. She reminded us that she had been a member of the club since 1962, and spoke briefly about how things had changed but pointed out that Margaret Black has actually been in the club even longer!

The main part of her presentation concentrated on points we should all remember when taking our photographs, illustrating this with some of her own photographs.

After coffee she continued, and showed us several more of her own pictures, many of which had been entered into national and international salons. She used these to illustrate how she had changed the original image, using Photoshop Elements, often to give it more ’punch’. She emphasised that she always kept the changes as simple as possible! She also reminded us that we are taking pictures for our own enjoyment and if others enjoy them as well that’s a bonus.

Next week, 22nd February, Phil Buckle is with us to give a talk entitled ‘Around the Lakes in 80 days.’ He will also give a demonstration of Kase Filters.

DPI’s for all NCPF Annual competition entries (i.e. colour print, mono print and DPIs) need to be with the External Competition Secretary) by Friday 22nd. The prints need to be given the External Competition Secretary at a later date.
